ENT - 2024

Friday, November 8th was my visit with ENT regarding the cough I have been experiencing a few months after starting Humira. The cough was occurring every day, non-stop that it became a regular part of my daily life. The ENT Specialist performed an upper endoscopy procedure. Of course, when she explained the process and I saw this thin long camera that was going to go inside one of my nostrils and then down my throat, I freaked out. But she sprayed a numbing spray inside of my nose. The whole procedure did not hurt. It lasted a few seconds and then it was done. And once again, she did NOT find anything to be of concerned. Only that my left nostril has a deviated septum and if it becomes an issue in the future, to schedule an appointment. Other than that, everything looked normal. She said I may have allergies and to use Flonase for two weeks and also to take Claritin.

I did take the Flonase and Claritin for two weeks and it did seem to help alleviate my symptoms. But I did mention that the Flonase would last for about half day and then the other half of my day the coughing resumes. She said that is how Flonase works. But overall, I did find this to be of help, but I know I couldn't do this every day for the rest of my life.

I can say that until this day, I still have my cough spells. A few doctors have said its post-nasal drip. I can' seem to find a regimen to help alleviate my symptoms as of yet. Every now and then I still take Flonase to help with the extra mucous that is stuck in my nose and throat. I also still take Claritin.
